Quality Service, Inc. is based in Escalon, CA and provides professional water and wastewater treatment services to the greater San Joaquin County, Stanislaus County, and surrounding regions. We have an opening for a part-time position (without benefits) and a full-time position that includes a 4/10 schedule, medical benefits, paid holidays, and paid vacation. We are looking to grow our company in assisting local water treatment systems that need certified operators and maintenance technicians.
Job Description:
We are looking for an individual for the position of Certified Operator, who can work independently, has a wide range of knowledge, skill, and experience in water and or wastewater service maintenance and construction. This position requires an individual who has the ability to contribute to our company and handle the daily operations. This position requires a team player who is a dedicated, long term, career minded, organized, multitasking individual with a strong work ethic and excellent communication and customer service skills.
Operator Duties Include but Are Not Limited to the Following:
- Under basic supervision, operates, maintains, and performs preventative maintenance on pumps, wells, tanks, water / wastewater treatment facilities, and related equipment and machinery, water quality sampling, etc. Perform all duties required to maintain compliance with contracted systems.
- Oversee operations of multiple water and or wastewater systems
- Work independently with the ability to multitask and meet due dates and deadlines.
- Sample collection (water and or wastewater)
- Inspect, operate, test, maintain a variety of water well and pump equipment, water storage facilities, water treatment plant facilities, including pumps, air compressors, telemetry systems, emergency systems, pipe systems, water storage tanks, chemical injection equipment associated with water treatment and pressure vessels.
- Performs operations and support activities for multiple supervisors.
- Manage deadlines; update and chase delegated tasks to ensure progress to meet deadlines and achieve compliance.
- Work with external and internal staff to organize and track various components needed to run and conclude projects and QSI operations of water and or wastewater systems.
- Assignments of routine system check routes
- Professional communication with regulatory agencies regarding questions, concerns, or compliance
- Report writing as needed (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Review of system permits to operate, or wastewater discharge permit requirements, ensuring all conditions are met and clients are in compliance.
- Review analytical test results for compliance.
- Brings in new work, operations, projects; meets with potential clients and represents QSI professionally; creates estimates or proposals as needed.
- Take on projects assigned as a Lead for project; see project through from start to finish; maintain detailed records and provide follow up for completed projects;
Responsible for success of projects. - Research material specifications:
Research technical information as needed. - Field inspections; meet with clients; perform troubleshooting on complicated systems; provide timely solutions for customers.
- Attending inspections with regulators; ensure compliance issues are addressed and deadlines are met;
Prepare reports for regulators, meet compliance requests and ensure deadlines are met. - Participates in rotating On-Call Schedule
- Overall contributes to the efficiency and productivity of QSI and staff.
Desirable Requirements;
Licenses or Certificates:
- Valid California operator’s license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles; a good driving record for at least two years duration; possession and continuance of a driving record that would not cause effects on QSI’s automobile insurance rates as required.
A High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years’ experience Water or Wastewater Operations
- SWRCB Water Treatment Grade I or above
