Overview
The Mission Critical Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, leadership, coordination, and financial performance of large, complex mission‑critical construction projects. This role provides full project oversight—from preconstruction through final turnover—ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met while delivering facilities where reliability, redundancy, and operational continuity are essential.
This position is heavily involved in early project planning and constructability and leads a fast‑paced execution environment that demands disciplined decision‑making, technical understanding of building systems, and strong collaboration across architecture, structure, MEP, and specialty scopes.
Responsibilities- Maintain full ownership of project scope, schedule, budget, and risk management for mission‑critical facilities.
- Lead the project team through all phases of construction, from preconstruction and procurement through commissioning and closeout.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability, and communication across all project stakeholders.
- Champion Brinkmann’s safety culture across all scopes of work, ensuring compliance with safety standards and best practices.
- Lead quality planning and execution to support zero‑defect delivery and mission‑critical performance requirements.
- Conduct and support safety and quality audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Manage complex coordination between civil, structural, architectural, and MEP scopes with a focus on system integration and performance.
- Oversee project phasing, sequencing, and risk mitigation in schedule‑driven, high‑reliability environments.
- Support testing, commissioning, and turnover activities to ensure systems meet performance, redundancy, and owner expectations.
- Participate in estimating, takeoffs, subcontractor bidding, and contract award strategies.
- Maintain accurate project financials, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Initiate, review, and negotiate change orders with a focus on value and risk reduction.
- Lead procurement and performance management of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Facilitate collaboration between owners, designers, consultants, and commissioning agents.
- Conduct OAC meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and internal team reviews.
- Lead, mentor, and support Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and career development to team members.
- Support business development efforts and contribute to repeat client relationships.

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing large, complex commercial or mission‑critical construction projects.
- Proven ability to manage integrated project teams across all building systems.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, risk management, and system coordination.
- Experience with mission‑critical or high‑reliability environments (e.g., data centers, critical facilities) preferred.
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, Primavera P6, and construction financial tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- The Project Manager’s work is primarily performed indoors in a main office or field office at the construction site; occasionally outdoors in various weather conditions with exposure to health or safety hazards, including noise levels ranging from moderate to loud.
- Light physical effort is required, including the handling of objects up to 20 pounds and some standing, walking, sitting, talking and hearing.
- Construction site will change or vary and/or position may require travel.
- Environment will be demanding and fast paced; number of hours typically worked in a workweek may exceed 40 hours per week and often “on call” 24 hours a day.
- Position requires a high-level of autonomy as it relates to decision‑making that impacts company results, client relationships, and subcontractor interaction.
