Our team is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer at our Chatsworth, CA office to support legacy and fielded products with established, qualified designs. This role focuses on sustaining engineering activities, including troubleshooting issues, implementing design updates, and ensuring continued product performance and reliability.

The engineer will work closely with customers, vendors, and cross‑functional teams to resolve technical challenges that arise during production and field use.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate existing designs, identify root causes of issues, and develop practical, compliant solutions while maintaining configuration control and adherence to engineering standards.
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design and drafting.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing using commercial platforms (Solid Works preferred).
  • Experience with Solid Works Simulation or equivalent FEA tools.
  • Strong understanding of engineering documentation and drawing standards.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Roles & Duties
  • Develop and revise engineering drawings, technical reports, and procedures.
  • Create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings for parts and assemblies using CAD tools.
  • Perform mechanical design and analysis, including FEA for stress, strain, and displacement.
  • Support design validation and product qualification efforts, including prototype fabrication and testing.
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling of major engineering activities.
  • Interface directly with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to communicate project status and technical details.
  • Contribute to design concept development, trade studies, and engineering evaluations.
  • Collaborate within a cross‑functional, matrixed engineering environment.

Compensation: $90,000-$130,000. Pay range is determined based on experience and qualifications.
