Overview
As a Treatment Plant Intern, you will gain hands‑on experience in water treatment processes, operations, and maintenance at one of our facilities. You will work alongside skilled professionals in various aspects of the wastewater treatment cycle, including system monitoring, data collection and analysis, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Internship DetailsThis is a 5‑week summer internship for students studying wastewater operations in the ERTC Program ernships will run from May 12th – June 13th and June 16th – July 18th.
PlacementInternships will be at one of the following Wastewater Treatment Plants. Placement will be determined based on MSD needs.
- Bissell – 10

- Missouri River – 3455 Creve Coeur Mill Road, Maryland Heights, MO
- Coldwater – 13798 Old Halls Ferry Rd, Florissant, MO
Assist with monitoring plant systems, collecting data, analyzing results, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Qualifications- Candidates must be currently enrolled in the ERTC Program at SIUE.
- Position is designated as safety sensitive; candidate must pass a Non‑DOT Drug Test under MSD's Substance Abuse Policy and Procedures. Employees occupying this position are not subject to Federal DOT testing regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee resides.
