We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Laboratory Supervisor for one of our clients to coordinate and oversee testing plans related to product life cycle, performance, and compliance projects. This role involves analyzing test data, making informed recommendations, managing testing initiatives for new or existing product designs, and directly supporting lab technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and review test plans, including resource allocation, test station setup, equipment usage, and maintenance scheduling
- Perform research, analyze test data, and support various functions in office, lab, or manufacturing settings
- Develop and refine testing procedures for raw materials, in-process, and finished products
- Review and analyze testing data, preparing conclusions and recommendations for project teams
- Support lab audit compliance, equipment calibrations, and inspections
- Drive continuous improvement in lab testing methods, product testing procedures, and production processes
- Provide training, guidance, and backup support to a team of technicians
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
- Minimum 5 years engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of written procedures and standardized test methods (UL, CSA, CE, DOE, AHRI, ASHRAE, ISO)
- Proficient in evaluating test results and drawing technical conclusions
- Effective at translating complex engineering concepts for technician-level staff
- Skilled in troubleshooting lab testing equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, Project, Word, PowerPoint)
- Creative and analytical mindset with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical controls, signal types, and sequence of operations
- Experience with DVP&R, FMEA, documentation, record keeping, and codes/standards review required
- Preferred: familiarity with LabVIEW programming, Data Acquisition Systems, Controls/Instrumentation, and Six Sigma methodologies
- Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
