Overview
At Raytheon, the Airborne Radar Electronics Design (ARED) department seeks a highly motivated, experienced Hardware Digital CCA Designer to work on Radar Control and Radar Processor electronics product development for defense applications. The position is located in ElSegundo, California.
What You Will DoThe candidate will be responsible for digital circuit card design during hardware development and integration for airborne radar applications.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing component obsolescence evaluations, selecting electrical parts, and participating in vendor trade studies.
- Conducting signal integrity and power‑integrity analyses.
- Guiding junior engineers, collaborating with systems, mechanical, and software teams, and delivering technical presentations.
- Working with government personnel and programs to define, refine, and validate hardware requirements for compliance.
The role may require occasional business‑related travel.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- 5+ years of experience in architecting, designing, implementing, and testing digital Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) designs.
- Experience with high‑speed mixed‑signal or high‑density, high‑speed digital circuit card design.
- Experience with bus standards such as sRIO, Space Wire, VME, PCI, PCIe, VPX, and Gigabit Ethernet.
- Experience designing hardware boards that house Xilinx and Altera FPGAs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience managing and presenting technical data to stakeholders and customers in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
- Embedded software and firmware knowledge.
- Experience with simulation tools such as Simulink, Model Sim, Logic Bus Analyzers, In‑Circuit Emulators/Debuggers, C/C++, LabVIEW, MATLAB.
- Experience with electronic circuit simulators such as PSpice and HSpice.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is desirable.
- Salary range: $95,500 – $181,700 USD.
