Regional Environmental Engineer, AWS Environmental Team

As a Regional Environmental Engineer (REE), you will be responsible for environmental compliance at AWS data centers in Missouri. Your role involves developing standards and policies to support regulatory compliance, conducting environmental performance analyses, establishing and monitoring metrics, and guiding teams on the implementation of Amazon environmental standards. You will build effective relationships with internal and external partners—including government entities, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders—to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with Amazon policies and applicable environmental regulations.

The position is based in New Florence, MO and requires travel throughout the state.

• Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy.
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees meets Amazon standards.
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor, and forecast performance.
• Conduct thorough environmental audits for continuous improvement.
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
• Represent Amazon with governmental agencies and across the company.
• Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to identify and manage risks early.
• Assist in timely report submission to governmental agencies.
• Complete investigations and regulatory reports for environmental incidents and develop corrective actions.

• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs, including regulated waste, water, and air regulations.
• 5+ years of regulatory and risk management experience.
• BA/BS degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Broad knowledge of U.S. environmental regulations.

• Experience leading change in multiple site environments and influencing stakeholders outside of direct management.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic organization.
• Strong project management skills, including prioritizing, planning, and time management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Successful implementation of environmental systems and compliance programs in operational settings.

Base salary range: $111,300 – $186,100 USD annually (New Florence, MO).
