Responsibilities
- Drive functional issue resolution between functional engineering teams. (Exterior Systems & Structures, IPSE, EE Hardware and Underbody Systems, etc.) to support program milestones.
- Drive cross-functional issue resolution (program, finance, quality, attribute, manufacturing, STA, suppliers, etc.) to support program milestones.
- Drive system design efficiency, finding solutions to reduce complexity, vehicle cost and/or vehicle weight.
- Manage system cost status with D&R / finance teams by reviewing engineering analysis of design changes, ensuring efficient vehicle solution is being brought forward to program.
- Report in a weekly basis program status and progress to leadership team.
- Lead escalation of issues when needed.
- Lead resolution of PD launch issues via JIRA, AIMS, CRs, FCPA, Alerts, & other launch performance metrics for on time delivery of launch.
- Provide issue resolution updates to the Integration and Program teams.
- Ensure alignment of engineering resources to budget for all phases of the program.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 3- 5+ years’ of experience with one or more of the following systems:
Dressed Engine, Transmission, Transfer Case, Cooling Hoses & Bottles, Low Pressure Air Induction, High Pressure Air Induction, eDrive, Traction Battery, and HV Modules. - Onsite collaboration expected for at least 4 days per week.
- Design and Release Engineering or Vehicle Engineering experience is preferred.
- Strong fundamentals and working knowledge of GPDS engineering milestones & GPDS process.
- Experience in the Cost Setting Process and Functional Led Cost/Appearance Delivery Process.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (open, clear, and inclusive).
- Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver results.
- Demonstrated organizational and delegation skills with proper follow-up.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload managing immediate and future needs.
- Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross functional teams (Program, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering).
