Project Engineer, Operations Management

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking multiple full‑time Project Engineers Level
1. This position is based at our Bridgeton, MO facility and offers an in‑person or hybrid schedule. As a Project Engineer Level 1 you will lead all engineering efforts on projects, ensuring they stay on time and on budget. You will serve as the interface between the engineering technical team and other departments, including Program Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.

• Ensure design compliance with all project requirements.
• Review customer specifications and may lead a project team to develop designs that best support them, with cost as a key design variable.
• May lead a team of engineers to complete a project or projects.
• Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments.
• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required.
• Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress.
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
• Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings.
• Mentor and coach less‑experienced engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with project planning and execution.
• Experience leading an engineering team consisting of multiple disciplines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with U.S. Defense Acquisition Process (desired).

The salary range for this position is $ to $ per year in Illinois. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for annual performance‑based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non‑exempt employees).
