Engineering Technician
Location:
Maryland Heights, MOJob Type: Full-time, in-office
Compensation:
Starting at $30.00 per hour plus 10% annual incentive opportunity. Actual starting pay will be based on experience, skills, and overall qualifications. This is a non-exempt position and pay is subject to overtime based on hours worked.
About the Role We are looking for an Engineering Technician to support the development, testing, and validation of innovative products that help solve corrosion challenges across a variety of industries. This role plays a critical part in turning engineering concepts into working prototypes, test systems, and production ready solutions.
This position is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands on technical work, troubleshooting complex problems, and working closely with engineers throughout the product development process. You will help build prototypes, conduct testing, analyze results, and support continuous improvement efforts that contribute directly to product quality and innovation.
What You'll DoProduct Development and Testing Build, assemble, modify, and maintain prototypes, test fixtures, and experimental equipment
Support product validation, reliability, environmental, and performance testing activities
Set up instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition systems, and measurement equipment
Conduct tests according to engineering procedures and accurately document results
Collect, organize, and analyze test data while identifying observations and potential issues
Assist engineers in evaluating product performance and validating design improvements
Troubleshooting and Technical Support Troubleshoot prototype, equipment, and test setup issues
Recommend practical solutions to improve testing efficiency and product performance
Support engineering change activities throughout the product development lifecycle
Fabricate and assemble mechanical and electromechanical components using hand and power tools
Assist with prototype builds and development projects across multiple disciplines
Laboratory Operations and Documentation Maintain engineering laboratory equipment, tools, and work spaces
Ensure safe and efficient operation of laboratory and testing environments
Create and maintain test reports, records, photographs, and technical documentation
Manage and organize engineering test requests and priorities
Track and report key performance metrics related to testing activities
Provide training on laboratory equipment and procedures when needed
Cross Functional Collaboration Partner with Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
Support timely completion of development projects and testing activities
Communicate testing progress, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve product quality and reliability
Travel
Occasional travel may be required
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience5 or more years of experience in an engineering laboratory, product development, manufacturing, or testing environment preferred
Experience building prototypes, test fixtures, or mechanical assemblies
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
Experience with test equipment, instrumentation, and data collection systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
Experience with PLC programming and data acquisition systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Preferred
Experience supporting new product development programs
Familiarity with electromechanical systems and manufacturing processes
Experience working with measurement tools, instrumentation, and automated test equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills
Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work around laboratory and manufacturing equipment for extended periods
Comfortable working around electrical systems and compressed air equipment
Ability to safely operate tools, machinery, and testing equipment
