• Design, test, improve, and support MiTek equipment for the truss manufacturing industry
• Update, evaluate, and support automated industrial machinery products for component manufacturing and off-site construction
• Lead outside team members through troubleshooting and root cause/corrective actions
• Create documentation for machinery repairs and troubleshooting
• Integrate, test, update, and debug NFPA
79/NEC/UL508A-compliant electrical control panels, parts, and assemblies
• Integrate, test, update, and debug industrial PLCs, VFDs, and servo drives
• Integrate, test, update, and debug safety instrumentation and controllers
• Develop and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
• Develop and maintain project documentation including system requirements, equipment manuals, test plans, and project notes
• Ensure compliance with MiTek procedures, industry standards, and governmental regulations
• Enter and update data in MRP/ERP systems
• Support Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, Purchasing, Installation, and Customer Service teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Review industry trends and emerging technologies
• Design and execute mechanical and electrical component testing and provide design feedback
• Assemble, wire, and start up prototype machinery
• Visit customer sites to troubleshoot machinery and support installation and automation teams
• Create solutions to issues by specifying components and producing engineering drawings
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education may substitute on a year-for-year basis
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with electrical controls systems required
- Advanced diagnostic experience with power distribution, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks required
- Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or willingness to improve knowledge required
- Experience with PLCs, motor controllers, VFDs, servos, and sensors preferred, with willingness to improve knowledge
- Experience with safety controllers preferred, with willingness to improve knowledge
- Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply basic geometry
- Ability to read and understand prints and schematics
- Ability to use small hand and power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication skills to interact frequently with different teams
- Willingness and ability to travel 10%-20% as needed for critical on-site activities

Demonstrates expertise in designing, testing, and supporting electrical control systems and automated machinery for the truss manufacturing industry, with a strong focus on compliance with NFPA
79, NEC, and UL508A standards. Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
