Role Description

The Planning Engineer is a full-time, on-site position located in Fredericktown, MO. This role is responsible for planning and designing electric distribution system improvements, including load studies, system analyses, and long-range infrastructure plans. The Planning Engineer collaborates with operations, engineering, and field teams to develop construction work plans, coordinate project schedules, and support production planning to meet member needs. Daily tasks include monitoring system performance, analyzing data to identify capacity or reliability issues, and recommending upgrades or modifications.

The role also involves maintaining project documentation, supporting project control activities, assisting with budgeting and cost estimates, and communicating project status and technical information to internal stakeholders and management.

Qualifications
  • Ability to perform Planning and Production Planning activities for electric distribution projects, including developing work plans and scheduling system upgrades.
  • Strong Analytical Skills and experience in Project Control, with the capacity to interpret system data, track project progress, and support effective resource allocation.
  • Effective Communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Familiarity with electric utility distribution systems, system modeling software, and GIS or CAD tools is preferred.
  • Commitment to safety practices, attention to detail, and capability to work on-site and in the field as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing operational priorities.
  • Professional engineering licensure (or progress toward licensure) in Missouri is a plus.
