About This Role

The Construction Manager is responsible for driving the project’s safety, productivity, and quality in the field, minimizing risks, and completing the work in the best interests of QISG, our clients, and our co-workers. In addition, this position will monitor and audit a project’s quality management requirements, as well as the execution of the project Quality Management Plan. This position will work closely with Project Managers and Construction Managers for the monitoring and oversight of project quality objectives/activities.

You’ll Do

Duties

  • Leads, manages, and directs field construction personnel in the performance of their duties on assigned projects
  • Ensures compliance with customer goals and expectations associated with safety, quality, and environmental stewardship
  • Plans, collects, and provides reporting on overall project performance
  • Works directly with the customer to ensure optimal communication, customer satisfaction, and effective coordination between the project and other activities occurring at the jobsite
  • Mitigates and effectively resolves potential rework situations and construction disputes
  • Develops and provides oversight to ensure compliance with project-specific quality control and quality assurance plans
  • Displays expert knowledge of the prime contract and construction subcontracts and purchase orders associated with assigned projects
  • Monitors progress of the overall design to maintain or improve the balance between scope, budget, time, and quality
  • Originates, reviews, and/or responds to Requests for Information (RFI) and Submittals for constructability
  • Develops, implements, and provides guidance in the execution of the Quality Management Plan, to include the Quality Management System
  • Provides guidance for change and improvement in performance and process plans
  • Interacts with Quanta Operating Units and other subcontractors to provide guidance on contract required quality obligations, requirements, and documentation
  • Leads project team in quality related training and awareness regarding activities planned for the project
  • Recommends procedural improvements and best practices based on audit results/experiences and lessons learned
  • Assists in identifying and documenting issues that may cause, or contribute to, deviations from planned/expected outcomes and develop corrective action plans to address issues
  • Assists the Directors, Operations with the maintenance of overall Quality Management Plan and System for activities that are specific to procedures, processes, and training
  • Performs random inspections of work performed by Quanta Operating Units and subcontractors; reviews QA documents as they are issued
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
  • Performs special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested
What You’ll Bring

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Science/Management, Engineering, or equivalent field; equivalent work experience, or combination of work and education, may be substituted
  • 10+ years’ experience in Construction Management with direct DB/EPC projects in the power delivery industry preferred; ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in transmission, distribution, and substation work
  • Must be well versed in various aspects of quality and construction, as well as project planning and management-related tasks and activities
