Onsite Position
As a MANUFACTURING ENGINEER for John Deere Reman located in Strafford, Missouri, you will be responsible for supporting operations through Order Fulfillment Processes (OFP) and Product Delivery Process (PDP) programs. The major focus will be on Continuous Improvement, not maintaining status quo but building a better business by continuously developing methods and processes that are safer and delivering products of better quality more efficiently.
In this position you will develop process routings, procure tools and gages and plan activities to improve quality using control plans / statistical process controls, process monitors. Also as needed, will work on justification and procurement of machines, tools in support of assembly processes, and capacity increase studies. In addition, you will:
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) - improving Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Delivery through data driven proactive projects
- Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Apply mistake proofing methodology proactively to high-risk processes and recurring quality nonconformance issues
- Develop and modify Operator Method Sheets (visual work instructions) as required
- Support John Deere Assembly Assist Tool (JDAAT) and all manufacturing equipment in areas assigned
- Develop & improve on plan for every part including specified locations for point of use parts & storage parts
- Support multi-functional Quality Improvement Teams (QIT) tasked with improving overall assembly quality

What Skills You Need• Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience gained from educational projects, relevant internships or practical work experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality, tooling, preventative maintenance and facilities
• Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases
• Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools
• Experience developing and deploying operator work instructions
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• 1 or more years of experience with small strategic projects or larger tactical projects with medium complexity
What Makes You Stand Out• Knowledge of assembly line processes
• Experience with AutoCAD, and Creo (3D Modeling) software
• Experience with MPP work instruction and OMS development
• Experience with JDAAT, SAP functions, Windchill and other software tools
• Experience implementing engineering changes
• Experience with standard data application, time study, line balance, cost/pay structure
EducationIdeally you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Operations discipline
