Location: Louisiana

Role

  • Lead strategic air permitting reviews, permit applications, and compliance assurance programs for data center and technology clients dealing with complex technical and regulatory issues.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their operations and create permitting and compliance strategies that support maximum operating flexibility.
  • Deliver projects in line with client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Serve as a technical resource for air quality compliance and permitting matters, including regulatory analyses of facility operations.
  • Prepare major and minor source air permit applications under NSR, PSD, Title V, and state-level air regulations.
  • Support NESHAP MACT compliance programs.
  • Coordinate with local regulatory agencies to help move permit applications through review and approval.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that lead to repeat business and growth in the Air Quality practice.
  • Prepare technical proposals and contribute to business development efforts for both existing clients and new leads.
  • Leverage client relationships and technical excellence to strengthen ERM’s market presence and expand business opportunities.
  • Manage project teams effectively, including teams spread across multiple ERM offices.
  • Delegate work appropriately and provide mentorship to junior staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in air quality compliance and permitting.
  • Experience managing and implementing Clean Air Act programs such as Title V, New Source Review, and MACT.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple air quality projects successfully.
  • Experience developing client relationships that result in repeat business.
  • Technology sector experience is preferred.
  • Direct experience supporting data center sites is a plus.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Experience writing detailed technical reports.
  • Experience working with multiple permitting agencies across different states and local jurisdictions.
