Application Engineer
Insight Global is seeking an Application Engineer to join a collaborative, globally connected team of six supporting advanced capital equipment in the electronics manufacturing industry. This hands-on, customer-facing position serves as the critical technical bridge between engineering, sales, and end customers and is responsible for configuring, validating, and optimizing equipment solutions that drive measurable production outcomes.
This role will work across four core product lines including wave soldering, reflow, cleaning, and printing systems, and partner with customers ranging from circuit board manufacturers to large-scale electronics producers. This role offers significant autonomy, structured mentorship from seasoned industry experts, schedule flexibility, and a clearly defined path to becoming a subject matter expert (SME) with long-term growth into senior technical and leadership opportunities as the team expands globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre- and post-sales technical support alongside sales teams, distributors, and reps to close business
- Travel ~50% to US (expanding global) customer sites for installations, troubleshooting, and process optimization
- Host customers onsite in labs for demos, trials, and equipment evaluations
- Translate customer requirements into tailored proposals, configurations, and technical solutions
- Plan and execute DOE, lab trials, and validation testing (FAT/SAT)
- Support NPI, customer training, beta testing, and production ramp-up
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime
- Support quote development, RFQs, and equipment upgrades
- Capture Voice of Customer to drive product improvement
- Maintain lab equipment, technical documentation, and support trade shows/demos
