Truss Design Technician

Energy Panel Structures Inc. is seeking a Truss Design Technician to support the design and production of engineered roof and floor truss systems for residential, agricultural, and commercial projects. Working closely with sales, engineering, and manufacturing, you will interpret construction plans, create accurate truss layouts, and generate fabrication drawings and material lists using design software. You'll check loads, spans, and connection details to meet building codes and EPS standards, troubleshoot design issues with builders and dealers, and contribute to efficient, energy-conscious building solutions in a safe, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural and structural plans to design roof and floor truss systems
• Use truss design software to create layouts, calculations, and fabrication drawings
• Perform basic load, span, and connection checks to meet building codes and EPS standards
• Generate bills of materials and cut lists for manufacturing
• Collaborate with sales, engineers, builders, and dealers to clarify project requirements
• Resolve design conflicts and propose cost-effective, buildable solutions
• Review and revise designs based on feedback from production and field teams
• Maintain accurate digital project files and documentation
• Support continuous improvement of design standards, templates, and processes
• Promote and follow EPS safety and quality procedures in all design activities
