Location: California

  • Lead front-end commercialization strategy for complex or multiple new product programs
  • Influence architecture, platform decisions, and supplier engagement models
  • Lead enterprise-level DFx execution, including DfM, DfA, DfC, DfS, DfR, ITO, and transportability
  • Establish co-development models with strategic suppliers and Materials Program Management
  • Act as senior technical authority and escalation point for mechanical and electrical design decisions
  • Define technical execution frameworks and operating models for commercialization plans
  • Govern commercialization and virtual validation when designs are incomplete
  • Establish ACE operating models for MLO/Virtual Analysis execution, including standards, decision gates, and escalation paths
  • Drive cross-organizational alignment with Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, DFx, Materials, and Supplier Engineering
  • Shape supplier ecosystems, technical roadmaps, and co-development strategies
  • Integrate manufacturing cost structures, process economics, and should-cost frameworks into commercialization strategy
  • Identify systemic technical, supplier, and execution risks and drive mitigation strategies
  • Provide executive-level technical status, risk, and readiness assessments to senior leadership
  • Partner with Program Management, Materials Program Management, and Business Unit leadership
  • Lead resolution of complex multidisciplinary technical issues, including post-launch systemic corrections
  • Mentor senior engineers and ACE Engineer IV / IV MTS staff
  • Define and institutionalize best-known methods, tools, and processes for commercialization engineering and DFx execution
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • Typically 10-15+ years of progressive engineering experience in product development, DFx, commercialization, supplier engineering, or complex technical program leadership
  • Mastery across mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing systems, including process economics, cost structures, and precision fabrication methods
  • Knowledge of supplier processes, DFx methodologies, and product lifecycle execution
  • Advanced knowledge of should-cost methodology and manufacturing process engineering
  • Broad systems knowledge enabling cross-domain integration and optimization
  • Ability to anticipate business, market, and regulatory trends and translate them into technical and commercialization strategies
  • Ability to lead complex, high-risk initiatives across multiple programs
  • Ability to solve unique, complex, ambiguous, and ill-defined problems using systems-level analysis
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and authority and align senior stakeholders
