Central Region Landfill Engineer

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and oversee landfill development and expansion projects for the central region
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations
• Monitor landfill performance, operations, and capacity using engineering analyses and reporting
• Coordinate with operations teams on daily landfill activities, safety practices, and best operating procedures
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and permit applications for regulatory agencies
• Support environmental monitoring, including groundwater, gas collection, and leachate systems
• Collaborate with contractors and consultants on capital and construction projects
• Analyze data to optimize site design, airspace utilization, and long-term closure planning
• Provide technical guidance to local site leaders and participate in regional planning meetings
• Promote Waste Connections' safety-first and environmental stewardship culture in all engineering work
