This position is physically located at the California Natural Resources Building in Downtown Sacramento.

Duties:
Under the general direction of the Manager of Dam Safety Services, the North Surveillance & Facility Performance Branch Manager duties include planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing annual dam safety activities and dam safety projects for State Water Project dams within Oroville, Delta, and San Luis Field Divisions. The incumbent supervises and directs the work of the North Section, Central Section, and one Senior Engineer, Specialist and ensures Branch activities align with the SWP Dam Safety Policy, SWP Dam Safety Program document, and other Departmental policies and procedures.
Incumbent plans, leads, organizes and controls the quality and timely completion of Branch deliverables. This includes the deliverables generated by direct subordinates as well as those of partnering Divisions and external consultants. This position requires the incumbent to establish and work cooperatively with all professional levels; maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance; implement analyze situations accurately; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
and exercise good judgment. Incumbent must synthesize dam safety and engineering studies in a timely manner, understand their implications on dam and public safety, and develop appropriate plans, recommendations, and actions as necessary. Must maintain proactive approach to dam safety concerns and regularly update the Manager of Dam Safety Services.
