Amentum is seeking an Operational Engineering Advisor to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC). Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Operational Engineering Advisor to provide wide-ranging technical support to the Range Operations department in the execution of all Range user planning functions, up to and including critical customer liaison and stakeholder tasks and activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate communication and collaboration between Range customers, Space Launch Delta 30 at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) and 45 at Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB), (SLD) and all SFRC stakeholders including the Integrated Product Teams
Provide technical support to Range Operations planning functions, including recommended inputs to the Universal Documentation System (UDS).
Attend formal meetings and provide technical assistance and comprehensive summaries to Range Operations.
Provide technical assistance to the Government and all stakeholders to ensure that the Range users' expectations are synchronized with the government's interpretation of requirements and Range capabilities.
Advise and support Range Users through the submission and processing of their requirements and documentation via the UDS process and other required SLD 30 processes.
Coordinate solutions to address user requirements and identify capability shortfalls. Notify the Government Liaison and affected Range stakeholders in writing of any issues communicated by the customer.
Regularly provide status updates and progress reports on task assignments.
Other duties as assigned.
This position will also provide technical support to other internal Engineering tasks and activities, including the development of annual spend plans to ensure future Range user requirements are addressed.
Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor of Science in Science, Technical, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or combination of education and working experience.
3+ years of experience in technical position
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
Experience working with Test, Requirements, Systems and Integration Engineering Teams
Knowledge of the VSFB Range Instrumentation preferred
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Solid interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with diverse groups, including government and military personnel.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand user and government requirements.
Experience organizing and maintaining documentation.
A proactive and problem-solving mindset with a focus on addressing customer needs.
The annual starting salary for this position is between $75,000-$85,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
