Spacecraft Autonomy & Orbital Defense
Up to $225,000
The Company- Developing high-performance autonomous spacecraft engineered for space safety and national defense missions.
- Integrating state-of-the-art sensing, control theory, and edge autonomy into resilient orbital systems.

- Own complete algorithm development life cycles from initial mathematical concepts to real-time flight software execution.

A technical, hands-on role where you will:
- Architect, test, and tune real-time GNC algorithms for relative motion, formation flying, and autonomous RPO.
- Construct attitude determination and control systems (ADCS) alongside precise orbit determination filters.
- Model complex orbital dynamics, satellite trajectories, and space environmental disturbance forces.
- Execute robust state estimation and sensor fusion using IMUs, star trackers, optical navigation, and LiDAR.
- Write, embed, and optimize flight algorithms in C/C++ and Python for flight systems.
- Conduct extensive Monte Carlo performance runs and failure scenario testing across HIL test beds.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of dedicated experience in spacecraft or satellite Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC).
- Advanced programming fluency across MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and Python environments.
- Demonstrated mastery in Kalman filtering, state estimation, and non-linear control systems.
- Active U.S. Citizenship with active TS/SCI clearance or verified eligibility to obtain one.
- Willingness for 100% on-site work location in Torrance, California.
- Direct production experience implementing autonomous Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) algorithms.
- Deep experience setting up and verifying algorithm performance inside Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups.
