- Provide day-to-day technical, organizational, and communication support under supervision
- Apply engineering fundamentals to design structural framing systems or components at an entry-level basis
- Formulate designs and/or analyses of structural framing systems and perform necessary calculations with direction and assistance
- Conduct field measuring and checking at construction sites to verify existing conditions
- Prepare construction documents and coordinate with other disciplines to produce well-coordinated construction document sets
- Coordinate with other disciplines for clash detection and load determination
- Review shop-drawing submittals to ensure design intent is met
- Maintain project files containing calculations, correspondence, reference material, and other items
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field required
- Master’s program in field of engineering preferred
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
- Engineer in Training (EIT) License preferred
- Basic knowledge of Building Information Modeling software, including Autodesk Revit
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Knowledge of principles relating to steel and concrete design for structural systems in buildings
- Understanding of building code standards and loading requirements, including IBC and ASCE7
- General knowledge of structural analysis software including Risa, RAM, ETABS, and SAP 2000
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu
- Finite Element Modeling (FEM) is a plus
Demonstrates foundational knowledge in Civil and Structural Engineering principles, with a focus on structural framing systems, building code standards, and construction documentation. Proficient in utilizing engineering software for design and analysis, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
