Job Title:Transmission Engineer - Transmission
Location(s):St. Louis (MO), Columbus and Akron (OH)
Contract length:Direct Hire
Pay:Compensation discussions are handled directly with qualified candidates during the interview process. You can assume market pay for these roles and our base and bonuscompensationpackage will meet the requirements.
- Transmission Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 3 years of transmission engineering experience required. Consulting preferred or
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of transmission engineering experience required. Consulting preferred or
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of transmission engineering experience required. Consulting preferred.
- Strong knowledge in standard civil/structural engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong computer skills (e.g,. AutoCAD, Micro Station, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, transmission analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
- Transmission Description
- Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
- Prepare construction documents, including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
- Prepare specifications and project design criteria.
- Provide field support during construction.
- The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
- Experience in HVDC is a plus.
- Occasional travel to client and project locations will be expected.
- Other duties as assigned.
