The Mechanical Engineer supports the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, prepare technical documentation, and assist in product and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Support engineering projects from concept through production.
- Conduct engineering calculations, analysis, and testing to validate designs.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and production teams to resolve engineering issues.
- Participate in prototype development, testing, and evaluation activities.
- Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and company specifications.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, reliability, and cost reduction.
- Maintain engineering records and revision-controlled documents.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
- 0-3 years of engineering experience (internships and co-op experience considered).
- Proficiency with CAD software such as Solid Works, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar.
- Understanding of engineering principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or mechanical simulation tools.
- Manufacturing or industrial engineering exposure.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience in product development and testing.
- Familiarity with quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
