Position Title: Catholic Music Director
Location: Whiteman Air Force Base, MO 65305
Job Type: Full Time
Requirements- The candidate shall have a Bachelor’s degree in Music, Sacred Music, or related field from an accredited institution.
- The candidate shall have demonstrated proficiency in at least one primary accompaniment instrument (piano or organ) with the ability to play both contemporary and traditional liturgical music.
- The candidate shall have a minimum of three (3) years of experience directing music programs and serving as an accompanist in a church, chapel, or similar environment.
- The candidate shall have proven ability to select, arrange, and direct music for various services, ceremonies, and special events in accordance with liturgical seasons and traditions.
- The candidate shall have experience supervising and rehearsing volunteer or paid choirs, ensembles, or soloists.
- The candidate shall have strong sight‑reading skills to support live performance adjustments during services.
- The candidate shall have ability to work collaboratively with chaplains, clergy, and other worship leaders to plan and execute musical elements of services.
- The candidate shall have familiarity with multiple worship styles and ability to transition between them as needed.
- Provide musical leadership and accompaniment for Catholic Worship Services, including Sunday Mass and special events.
- Coordinate weekly with the Catholic Chaplain or designee to select liturgically appropriate music that aligns with the chaplain’s vision.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals (excluding the day of service) and ensure song selections are distributed to the Worship Team at least 24 hours prior to rehearsal.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of musical equipment as needed.
- Maintain punctuality, arriving at least 10 minutes before rehearsals and 30 minutes before services or special events.
- Maintain a written log of all work performed under the contract.
