Job Description:

Dave & Buster’s is a dynamic entertainment and restaurant company. The front desk/host position ensures positive first impressions and guides guests through retail, game rental and dining experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through food, drinks and games.
  • Act as ambassador, greeting guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while coordinating game rentals, merchandise sales, and telephones.
  • Keep immediate supervisor promptly informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary.
  • Bid farewell to guests leaving, ensuring satisfaction and inviting return.
  • Prepare for the shift by ensuring the area is stocked with supplies: menus, silverware, power cards, gift cards, etc.
  • Review cleanliness and organization of the front desk and host station.
  • Ensure all menus are stocked and properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Maintain inventory of merchandise during and after shift.
  • Maintain favorable working relationships with other team members to foster a cooperative climate.
  • Notify manager of any guest perceived to be unhappy.
  • Assist other team members as needed or as business dictates.
  • Drive table turn timing by scouting open tables, bussing and cleaning tables as necessary.
  • Rotate seating appropriately following guidelines to ensure fairness and balance.
  • Manage flow from the front doors, efficiently helping guests with needs and directing as needed.
  • Manage wait times and communicate information as needed to guests, team members, and managers.
  • Deliver silverware as guests are seated.
  • Make timely and accurate calculations of bill transactions.
  • Greet and assist guests efficiently and with a smile while processing transactions.
  • Reconcile any monies from banks.
  • Complete “To Go” order transactions for guests and ensure accuracy.
  • Sell merchandise from the front desk, if applicable.
  • Be friendly and able to smile frequently.
Qualifications
  • Restaurant, retail, or cashier experience preferred.
  • Strong communicator capable of engaging multiple guests.
  • Dressed in accordance with dress guidelines, looking neat, clean, professional.
  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Skilled at calmly responding to dissatisfied guests and escalating issues.
  • Minimum age 16 years.
Physical Demands
  • Work days, nights, and/or weekends as required.
  • Work in noisy, fast paced environment with distracting conditions.
  • Read and write handwritten notes.
  • Lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Move about facility and stand for long periods of time.
  • Walk or stand 100% of shift.
  • Reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
