Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
A high-growth specialty finance platform providing working capital solutions to small businesses nationwide. The business originates 800–1,000 transactions per month and manages an active on-balance-sheet portfolio across multiple entities, including affiliated lending vehicles and SPVs.
With operations spanning multiple U.S. states, plus South America-based team members and offshore accounting support, they are now seeking a senior accounting leader to scale the function alongside continued growth.
The OpportunityThis is a hands‑on Director of Accounting/Controller role reporting directly to the CFO. You will own financial reporting, consolidation, audit management, internal controls, and play a key role in supporting budgeting and forecasting.

- Specialty lending/SME Lending experience
- Built accounting teams
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple legal entities
- Prepare consolidated US GAAP financial statements
- Manage intercompany eliminations and ownership allocations
- Deliver timely, decision‑ready reporting to executive leadership
- Oversee accounting for originations, fee income, interest income, and servicing revenue
- Ensure accurate accrual accounting and revenue recognition
- Manage broker commissions and direct lending structures
- Oversee allowance methodologies and loan‑level accounting
- Oversee daily funding wires and cash controls
- Supervise reconciliations and maintain real‑time cash reporting
- Strengthen fraud prevention and control procedures
- Partner with the CFO on annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Translate operational metrics into financial projections
- Deliver variance analysis and scenario modeling (growth, funding costs, originations, headcount)
- Lead annual external audit process
- Prepare technical accounting memos and audit schedules
- Strengthen internal controls and documentation
- Support regulatory and lender reporting requirements
- Manage accounting across affiliated lending vehicles and holding entities
- Oversee entity‑level financial statements and consolidation
- Coordinate with external tax advisors on partnership and corporate filings
- Build and mentor a scalable accounting team
- Establish efficient close processes and SOPs
- Drive automation, reporting enhancements, and system integrity
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 8–12+ years progressive accounting experience
- Proven multi-entity consolidation expertise
- Experience in specialty finance, lending, fintech, or financial services preferred
Base: $185,000 – $205,000
Bonus: 15–20%
Total Target Compensation: $215,000 – $245,000
