About UsOur leading automotive dealership is seeking a Controller to join our fast‑paced finance team. - Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
- Coordinate the preparation of the company’s budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Conduct the year‑end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Lead and direct ledger entries and reconciliations, account analysis, and intercompany transactions.
- Work closely with operational teams to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Proven multi‑franchise automotive experience.
- Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures, including ledger entries, year‑end close, reconciliations, and GL.
- Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Excellent analytical abilities to manage large amounts of data.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performance.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
