Senior Financial Analyst

Overview

Universal Music Group invites a Finance & Accounting professional to support the Corporate Divisions with financial planning, forecasting, consolidation, and analysis. The role involves preparing monthly/quarterly financial forecasts, annual plans, and providing insights on variance drivers to business unit leaders.

• Prepare and maintain financial models to support quarterly forecasts and annual budget planning across the division’s P&L and Balance Sheet.
• Lead the consolidation, validation, and analysis of monthly cash forecasts across U.S. divisions, coordinating with Treasury and cross‑functional teams.
• Provide ongoing financial and analytical support to Corporate Divisions, partnering with business unit leaders to deliver insights on forecast assumptions, planning cycles, and monthly close activities.
• Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast, identifying key variance drivers and communicating findings to managers and Corporate.
• Conduct detailed data analysis—including general ledger and transactional‑level review—to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial reporting.
• Maintain and optimize budget and forecast models within financial planning systems, supporting department‑level reviews, scenario modeling, and consolidation processes.
• Drive efficiency by identifying areas for system improvement/adoption and guiding continuous improvement efforts for financial analysis & reporting tools.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, accounting, or audit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with business and financial acumen.
• Demonstrable proficiency with Excel financial modeling, Power
  
  BI, Power Query, and accounting/financial applications such as Hyperion Financial Management/Smart View and SAP.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast‑paced environment under tight deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, enabling collaboration with supervisors and business partners.
• Results‑oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team, and capable of maintaining confidentiality.
