Principle Duties- Manage the communication efforts with the finance and management groups to understand purpose, goals and objective of the respective legal entities.
- Understand the products, flow of business, accounting methodology and procedures for the entity.
- Works with other areas, internal and external to the company, to achieve efficient, effective and consistent accounting and regulatory reporting practices and procedures and respond to requests on various inquiries.
- Contribute to entity financial reporting process risks and controls on applicable basis of accounting (i.e. GAAP, STAT, local).
- Performs management of legal entity reporting function ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Meet at least quarterly with immediate supervisor, appointed actuary and entity management.
- Manage and prepare quarterly summary of results, including explanations of variance from expectation.
- Review and analyze quarterly financial statements including service charges and general expenses; reconciliation of balances sheet accounts and YTD transaction detail to source systems.
- Analyze and review quarterly entity balance sheet and financial results, provide summary reports to entity management or governing bodies.
- Manage Regulatory Compliance requirements.
- Supports plan roll ups at a legal entity level, provides appropriate analyses.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) preferred.
- 10+ Years combined audit experience and insurance accounting experience dealing with auditors, with GAAP reporting and general ledger application experience. Required.
- 5+ Years insurance accounting and solvency II experience required.
- Systems integration / implementation experience preferred.
- Policy research and drafting experience preferred.
- Insurance auditing experience preferred.
Certifications:
- CPA
- Intermediate Word, Advanced Excel, and Advanced SQL/Query skills required.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting/finance, solvency II and general ledger applications (People Soft) required.
- Advanced level of people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility required.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge. Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines required.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions. Required.
- Advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions required.
- Advanced ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables required.
- Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects required.
- Advanced level of skills in customer relationship management and change management required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects or teams and set applicable goals required.
- Advanced negotiating and persuasion skills required.
- General business knowledge required.

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan.
