We are looking for a Vice President, Finance to join the Tacony team in St. Louis, MO! The VP, Finance will serve as the senior financial leader for the organization, overseeing finance, treasury, tax, compliance, and credit operations. Reporting to the CEO, this role partners closely with the executive leadership team to drive financial strategy, optimize performance, support growth initiatives, and ensure strong fiscal stewardship across the business.

Additionally, this individual will lead, develop, mentor, and provide strategic guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

What You'll Do
  • Lead all financial operations in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies, budgets, forecasts, and long-term business plans.
  • Oversee accounting, treasury, cash management, tax, compliance, and financial reporting functions.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial statements, analysis, and performance insights to executive leadership, the advisory board, and employees.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, cost management, pricing analysis, and funding strategies to support business objectives.
  • Manage customer credit policies, credit risk assessments, and collections to optimize sales growth while minimizing bad debt exposure.
  • Ensure strong internal controls, reliable financial systems, and achievement of targeted month-end close timelines.
  • Lead relationships with banks, auditors, accounting firms, and other financial partners.
  • Oversee external audits, tax planning, financial compliance, and adherence to lending covenants.
  • Support international finance operations, including UK finance team collaboration, intercompany consolidation, and audit coordination.
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to department leaders across the organization.
  • Foster a high-performing finance team through coaching, development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the CEO.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • CPA or CMA designation required.
  • 7+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing finance teams.
  • Strong expertise in financial strategy, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, compliance, and operational finance.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Hands-on leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, challenging assumptions, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, professionalism, and sound business judgment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
