Assistant Manager Loan Operations

This role involves overseeing the Loan Operations Department, ensuring the accurate processing, storage, and servicing of commercial and real estate loans from origination to payoff, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and developing and enforcing department policies and procedures. The position requires leadership of staff in loan funding, disbursement, reconciliation, and auditing activities, as well as management of loan servicing systems (Fiserv Core, Laser Pro) and vendor training.

• Demonstrates quality customer service principles with internal and external customers consistently.
• Supervises loan funding, disbursement, reconciliation and loan boarding processes to ensure accuracy and completeness, and that processes and procedures are followed consistently.
• Tracks and prepares loan closings status and workflow reports.
• Performs test call back new loan audit report and follows up on corrections made.
• Oversees and reviews payments and advances processed by loan servicing.
• Performs periodic audits and certification including GL, property taxes, collateral, insurance etc.
• Aggregates and reports delinquent and collection information.
• Prepares and/or updates loan operations policies and guidelines as needed.
• Interacts with auditors, compliance and examiners to assist in Bank’s reviews and examinations.
• Follows up and corrects any items addressed and ensures necessary changes or recommendations have been implemented as directed from management, directors or examiners on a timely manner.
• Acts as a point person and problem-solver for issues relating to customer service, Fiserv Core Processing System and Laser Pro.
• Responsible for Laser Pro Administration, Fiserv and other vendor enhancement training.
• Responsible for FHLB and FRB collateral pledge reporting.
• Maintains accurate accounting records on all loan accounts, including balancing to the general ledger. Performs periodic audits and certification including GL, property taxes, collateral, insurance etc.
• Oversees and reviews payments and advances processed by Loan Servicing. Confirms payment of taxes, insurance, premiums, etc. from the accounts in a timely manner and all payments and receipts are recorded properly.
• Monitors the recordkeeping and storage of all loan documents including electronic filing and archiving, ensuring that loan papers are properly protected and that an efficient file maintenance system is maintained. Accountable for the security of loan documents, adequate back‑up procedures, and disaster preparedness.
• Manages daily activities of the Loan Operations staff assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions and sensitive customer relations problems, explaining policies and procedures to customers.
• Manages employee performance by conducting performance evaluations and monitoring performance and productivity of staff.
• Administers and develops policies, procedures and guidelines for loan servicing operations to ensure that the department meets all compliance requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of increasingly responsible experience in loan documentation and servicing within the financial services industry.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role with leadership experience.
• In-depth computer proficiency with programs such as MS Word, Excel, etc.
• Preferred:
  Cantonese or Mandarin speaking.
