SummaryThe compliance assistant assists the compliance officer in administrating the bank’s compliance management system and supporting the bank’s BSA/AML program. This position is responsible for assisting with compliance monitoring, employee training, policy administration, regulatory change management, and other activities designed to ensure adherence to applicable federal and state banking laws and regulations. The position requires strong analytical, organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to read interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, exercise sound judgment, maintain strict confidentiality, and uphold a high degree of integrity and professionalism.
- Work under the supervision of the Compliance Officer.
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting compliance and BSA requirements.
- Assist BSA Officer with BSA/AML Program.
- Assist with implementation of regulatory changes.
- Assist Compliance Officer with tracking and researching customer complaints and UDAAP monitoring.
- Prepare compliance reports for review by compliance officer prior to presentation to management and to the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate with legal counsel and departments to ensure compliance with new or revised products and services.
- Support compliance programs, including training, testing, and reporting.
- Review compliance disclosures for regulatory compliance.
Other Duties may be assigned.

Skills:
Proficient in bank database software, spreadsheet applications, and word processing tools.
- This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective oral communication with groups of employees or customers.
- Requires strong analytical, organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to read, interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
- Solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret diverse instructions.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, and talk or hear; frequently walk; occasionally stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally.
- Requires close and distance vision.
- Work environment is typical of a financial institution, with moderate noise; accommodations available for disabilities.
