Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting and guiding Credit & Collections daily operations, including managing arrears, bankruptcies, deposits, and other C&C functions. The role assesses the creditworthiness of customers and secures proper securitization (deposits, LOC, surety, etc.) for customer utility usage, collaborates with cross‑functional teams to address credit and collection issues, and leads process improvement initiatives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Research issues independently, analyze data, and make recommendations to improve billing, arrears, payment, write‑off, and customer experience.
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders and customers to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Track, measure, and report daily operations and controls for uncollectible bad debt; create analytical tools to assess impacts on financial statements.
- Participate in special projects defined by management to support business processes in collections and bad debt expense.
- Document processes using a consistent methodology and participate in cross‑functional training when necessary.
- Provide daily guidance, account analysis, and assistance in resolving technical or complex issues.
- Lead process improvement initiatives by defining requirements, testing functionality, and recommending changes to enhance department operation, efficiency, and customer arrears performance.
- Lead month‑end close reconciliation with reporting on uncollectible bad debt; work with Finance, Accounting, ICO, and IT to increase collections and reduce bad debt expense.
- Assess customer arrears and secure proper securitization (deposits, LOC, surety, collections, bad debt, bankruptcy, etc.) for utility usage.
- Identify problems and opportunities, analyze root causes, propose solutions, and present findings clearly to peers, managers, and senior leadership.
High School/GED. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business‑related field required, or equivalent work experience. A master’s degree is desired.
Minimum Experience RequirementAnalyst III: 4‑6 years of professional experience.
Analyst Sr: 6+ years of professional experience.
Preferred: CCS experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Technical skills with ERPs such as SAP, Maximo, Oracle, etc.
- Advanced analytical skills and experience managing multiple assignments.
- Understanding of key business drivers and ability to apply this knowledge to accomplish work.
- Ability to provide leadership and guidance to junior team members and explain complex information clearly.
- Positive impact on others’ work; works within guidelines and policies.
