Job Description
We are partnered with a prominent private investment firm focusing on acquiring commercial real estate across the US and Europe. They are looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team on a project basis and play a crucial role in the financial management of their assets, including investment accounts, real estate holdings, and other business ventures. This position will be responsible for cash distributions, preparing financial reports, managing general ledger activities, and helping with year-end.
Key Responsibilities- Cash Management:
Monitor cash flow and manage distributions for various accounts and entities across the US and Europe, ensuring liquidity for ongoing operations and investments. - Real Estate Accounting:
Manage accounting for real estate investments, including rent rolls, property expenses, and depreciation schedules. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards. - Entity Management:
Assist in the management of various entities under the family office structure, including trusts, partnerships, and LLCs. - General Ledger Management:
Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial closing processes. - Investment Accounting:
Track and reconcile investment activity, including stocks, bonds, alternative investments, and other assets. - Tax Compliance:
Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including individual, trust, partnership, and corporate taxes. - Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for financial planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for experience in a family office, real‑estate, wealth management, or similar environment.
- Proficiency with Yardi or MRI.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
