Position Summary
Responsible for developing new business as well as maintaining and servicing a commercial loan portfolio. Represent the bank in its market area through active participation in community affairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and manage a portfolio of business banking relationships, ensuring high-quality service, retention, and growth.
- Identify client needs and recommend appropriate credit, deposit, and treasury solutions through structured interviews, financial analysis, and consultative conversations.
- Generate new commercial relationships through proactive business development, including networking, referrals, outbound calling, and active participation in community and industry events.
- Structure, and present commercial credit requests, ensuring compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and sound credit principles.
- Manage the full credit lifecycle, including renewals, modifications, annual reviews, covenant monitoring, and collection activities when necessary.
- Collaborate with internal partners such as credit, treasury management, retail banking, and operations to deliver seamless client experiences.
- Maintain strong working relationships with centers of influence, including accountants, attorneys, real estate professionals, and community organizations.
- Exercise sound judgment and decision-making in credit recommendations, portfolio management, and customer interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
- Batchelor’s Degree in Business Administration or relation area; or equivalent work experience and/or a combination of both.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Commercial Lending with a preference for existing experience within service area and Credit training.
- Ability to generate new loan growth.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Programs/Products.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, contracts, credit, and financial documents as well as other legal documents as needed.
- Ability to present, sell and service bank products as well as demonstrate professional knowledge of commercial lending.
- Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities as well as an understanding of credit underwriting and loan documentation.
- Willingness to attend functions and meetings outside normal working hours.
