Senior Private Wealth Advisor, Practice Lead (Personal Strategy)

Position Overview:

Help high‑net‑worth clients achieve long‑term financial success by serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact. Focus on retaining and growing net assets through proactive, tailored financial advice delivered in a highly personal, strategic manner.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a dedicated client team comprising a Wealth Advisor and a Client Experience Specialist to build lasting relationships with a high‑net‑worth book of Empower clients.
  • Provide a first‑in‑class client experience covering onboarding, financial planning, and investor education.
  • Collaborate with advisory team resources to grow and maintain long‑term relationships with highly valued clients.
  • Conduct relationship management via phone, email, and virtual meetings, with both proactive and reactive engagement.
  • Retain assets under management and acquire additional assets through diligent communication, proactive education, and unfailing responsiveness.
  • Act as liaison between clients and internal Empower Personal Wealth departments and stakeholders.
  • Explain, recommend, implement, and review the ‘Personal Strategy’ investment approach aligned with client risk tolerance and objectives.
  • Provide holistic financial planning, including retirement, income optimization, tax‑advantaged savings, and education planning.
  • Collaborate with Financial Planning Specialists on complex issues or comprehensive financial plans.
  • Coordinate with the advisory team and EPW stakeholders for client‑related requests.
  • Delegate, coach, train, and develop colleagues and resources as needed.
  • Travel to meet clients face‑to‑face and strengthen relationships.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services and client experience.
  • Demonstrated success with high‑net‑worth clients, complex planning, NPS, and client retention.
  • Direct client contact experience with a professional, knowledgeable demeanor.
  • Advanced knowledge of wealth‑management strategies, financial planning, tax and income optimization, and estate planning.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, detail‑oriented, and ability to manage multiple time‑sensitive tasks.
  • Pro‑active self‑starter with situational awareness, contextual thinking, strong organization, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • FINRA Series
    65 required; FINRA fingerprinting required.
  • CFP certification strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary range: $ – $ (San Francisco / Bay Area).
  • Non‑sales positions: opportunity to participate in a bonus program.
  • Sales positions: eligible for sales incentives and a bonus plan.

Location & Travel

Ideal candidate resides in the San Francisco / Bay Area and must be available to meet clients in person. Remote or hybrid roles require reliable high‑speed Internet with a wired connection and a suitable home workspace.
