Job Overview

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Fiscal Policy and Analysis Bureau, Allocations Section seeks Analysts I and II to develop and maintain allocation methodologies for County Welfare and Probation Departments, and to conduct fiscal reviews of county administrative expenditures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform financial oversight of fiscal issues related to local assistance funding.
  • Develop allocation formulas using departmental data sources.
  • Research, analyze legislation, and prepare clear County Fiscal Letters.
  • Create spreadsheets and word documents necessary for analysis, development, and release of county allocations.
  • Meet tight deadlines associated with statutory budget cycle and subvention process.
Qualifications
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to research and analyze legislation.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Capacity to meet tight deadlines.
