Overview
Audit Manager – Telework Hybrid, Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Senior Management Auditor (SrMA) supervises staff in the International Registration Plan (IRP) audits and collaborates with Audits Office teams to maintain an agile, risk‑driven auditing approach. Telework available with hybrid arrangements; some in‑office reporting may be required.
Responsibilities- Manage staff of the International Registration Plan (IRP) audits in Audits Branch I, conducting sensitive and complex audits of registrants.
- Collaborate with other Senior Management Auditors to develop and maintain a flexible auditing approach that improves communication, planning, and responsiveness to emerging risks and changing business needs.
- Exercise full supervisory authority in the absence of the Supervising Management Auditor (SupMA).
Classification: SENIOR MANAGEMENT AUDITOR
Salary range: $8,265.00 – $10,785.00 per month. New state candidates may be hired at the minimum of the classification or alternate range when applicable.

Hybrid (part‑time telework available; California residency required) - Work Shift:
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Primarily sedentary; may require computer use, presentations, and meetings
- Effective communication with internal and external customers in person and by phone
- Fine motor skills; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds; up to 10% statewide travel (including overnight and out‑of‑state)
Valid driver license; ability to pass fingerprint clearances; knowledge of auditing standards, DMV laws and regulations; ability to produce formal written reports with findings and recommendations; strong analytical and decision‑making abilities; effective written and oral communication skills.
