AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Expert contributors review model responses, create high-quality examples, write task instructions, and identify the difference between genuinely sound reasoning and answers that only appear convincing.
This work gives experienced professionals a direct role in shaping cutting-edge AI systems. Finance specialists are especially important because many financial tasks require judgment, context, technical accuracy, and an understanding of how work is performed in practice.

As a Finance AI Training Expert, you will work directly with research and program management teams to improve how frontier AI models reason about financial work. You will review finance tasks and model outputs, develop instruction specifications and golden solutions, and build benchmarks that define correct performance.
The initial engagement is six months. The role description calls for a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, while the structured listing specifies availability of 20+ hours per week and a contractor, part-time engagement. The work is hybrid in the Bay Area, California, with on-site work required multiple days per week.

You will bring senior-level finance expertise to the design and evaluation of AI training data. The work requires careful analysis, strong written communication, and the ability to recognize subtle problems in assumptions, reasoning, and conclusions.
- Review finance knowledge work tasks and model outputs for quality, completeness, and professional realism.
- Identify missing behaviors, thin reasoning, flawed assumptions, and answers that sound polished but would not withstand professional scrutiny.
- Write high-quality instruction specifications for finance-focused AI tasks.
- Produce golden solutions to financial problems that demonstrate what correct reasoning looks like.
- Design challenging finance tasks and evaluation sets based on real-world practice.
- Help build finance-specific skills and tools with the research team.
- Collaborate with researchers and specialists in adjacent fields to maintain consistent standards.
- Translate tacit financial judgment into explicit, teachable evaluation criteria.
This role is intended for an experienced finance professional with substantial responsibility in a recognized financial institution or finance function. You must be able to assess financial reasoning at a senior professional standard and explain your judgment clearly in writing.
- At least five years of substantive, dedicated professional finance experience.
- Experience at a recognized institution such as an investment bank, asset manager, private equity or credit fund, Big Four firm, large corporate finance function, or financial regulator.
- Specialization in at least one core discipline, including corporate finance and FP&A, investment banking and M&A, asset or wealth management, private equity or private credit, quantitative finance and risk management, treasury, accounting, or audit.
