Return of Title IV Specialist

Overview

The Return to Title IV Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance within the Return of Title IV (R2T4) function, reviewing federal methodology, leading the R2T4 team, and managing calculations, adjustments, and appeal processes.

• Ensure compliance with federal methodology and regulations within a module‑based environment.
• Lead the Return of Title IV team to meet goals and deadlines, keeping the error rate below 5%.
• Process Return of Title IV calculations, aid adjustments, and “WF” grade reports at the end of each session.
• Manage the reaffirmation process for students returning to attendance within a semester.
• Oversee and resolve daily workload, including special student issue handling.
• Manage the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeal process from start to finish, making independent professional judgment decisions.
• Assist the Student Financial Aid Operations team in the absence of the Associate Director.
• Maintain professional relationships with the Registrar and Student Account departments.
• Train coworkers in Return to Title IV procedures and other areas of expertise.

• Bachelor’s Degree (compliance based required).
• Experience in Return to Title IV and understanding of federal regulations.
• Proficiency in complex data systems (CX/Jenzabar, Power Faids) and advanced Excel (V‑lookup, pivot tables).
• Strong leadership qualities with high standards for accuracy, deadlines, and compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make professional judgment decisions on SAP appeals.
• Demonstrated experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced compliance environment.
