Under the direction of a Supervisor in the Network Adequacy Oversight Section, the Analyst II monitors county compliance with Medi‑Cal behavioral health program network adequacy. The Analyst II is a subject matter expert on statewide strategies to enhance service availability and accessibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting monitoring activities to verify compliance with federal and state requirements, including MMC Regulations, 42 C.F.R. § 438.68, 438.206, and 438.207, Welfare and Institutions Code 14197, policy letters, and county contracts.
- Drafting annual reports of findings that document each county’s compliance with network adequacy.
- Leading staff efforts in developing and monitoring network adequacy requirements.
- Preparing annual reports documenting network capacity for each county’s Medi‑Cal behavioral health program.
Minimum requirements are outlined in the Class Specification. For reference:
- Analyst II salary range: $6,031.00 – $7,547.00
- Analyst I salary ranges: $3,861.00 – $4,839.00 (A), $4,181.00 – $5,233.00 (B), $5,014.00 – $6,276.00 (C)
The position is subject to the Department’s Conflict of Interest Code and requires filing a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) upon assumption, annually while in office, and upon leaving office.

This position is eligible for up to three days per week of telework and requires in‑person reporting a minimum of two days per week. Telework eligibility may change with DHCS’ Telework Program and relevant government codes. Business travel may be required; reimbursement is considered in accordance with regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions.
