Compliance and Reporting Assistance Technician – AIR RESOURCES TECHNICIAN II

Salary: $23.29 – $29.16 per hour (new to State at minimum)

Responsibilities
  • Assist vehicle and equipment fleet owners with compliance and reporting for CARB heavy‑duty mobile source regulations.
  • Answer phone and email inquiries via The Hotline and maintain accurate records in a database.
  • Track compliance assistance and outreach event contacts and materials distributed.
  • Research regulatory language, calculate fleet compliance, and support Air Resources Engineers and Air Pollution Specialists with outreach materials.
  • Assist in preparing and executing stakeholder and outreach meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • IN the AIR RESOURCES TECHNICIAN II classification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with federal, state and local air quality regulations.
  • Experience with emissions source requirements and vehicular emissions control systems.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Punjabi.
  • Experience providing telephone/email assistance to regulated communities.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Working Conditions

Hybrid in‑office/telework (subject to agency policy). In‑person attendance may be required.
