Position: MISSION SUPPORT OFFICER with Security Clearance
Location: Whiteman Air Force Base

Duties The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer to serve as the Senior ART/Mission Support Group Commander at a tenant location, responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling the activities and operations of the Mission Support Group.
* Plans, directs, organizes, and manages the Mission Support Group program including such areas as logistics planning and readiness, security forces, civil engineering, communications, services, and personnel. Incumbent manages a limited number of support functions or does not have the full complement of base support services as these services are provided by the host activity.
* Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters.
* Represents the wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other group commanders, representatives and senior staff at Numbered Air Force, HQ AFRC, and gaining MAJCOMs.
* Accomplishes special staff studies and projects resulting from reorganizations, regulatory changes, new technology, mission changes, etc
* Ensures documentation prepared to support actions is proper and complete. Reviews developmental needs of subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees and makes decisions on non-routine, costly or controversial training needs and/or requests for unit employees. * Incumbent must be willing to move/transfer to another unit/ location on a lateral or promotion as directed by HQAFRC. Qualifications This is an ART position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies. The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties;

however, the incumbent may also be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to fly in commercial or military aircraft for performance of TDY. THIS IS AN AIR RESERVE TECHNICIAN OFFICER POSITION. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position located at 512 MISSION SUPPORT GP with the military rank of Colonel / O-6, AFSC:030C0.

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling the activities and operations of the Mission Support Group to include but not limited to logistics planning and readiness, communications, civil engineering, personnel, security forces and services.
