Position: SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST (SPECIALIST)
Location: California

Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist)

Department of Water Resources

$7,820.00 - $10,732.00 per Month

Responsibilities
  • Provide environmental planning, environmental analysis, and compliance expertise to support Central Valley Flood Protection Plan’s Conservation Strategy goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, planners, and engineers as well as the public.
  • Use strong project management skills and a broad understanding of environmental policy and practices related to the flood control system in the Central Valley.
  • Collaborate and communicate clearly across disciplines within DWR and with key State, federal, and local partners and the public.
Qualifications
  • Strong project management skills and broad understanding of environmental policy and practices related to the flood control system.
  • Experience in environmental planning, analysis, and compliance within a flood control context.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of GIS and water-related biology and ecology principles.
