OverviewStep into a high‑impact policy role at Covered California as an Analyst III, External Affairs (EA) Specialist. You will be the primary driver of federal and legislative policy engagement, leading complex analysis, shaping government‑relations strategies and coordinating high‑visibility external engagements that influence how Californians access affordable health coverage.
Responsibilities- Lead complex policy analysis on emerging federal and state initiatives.
- Shape government‑relations strategies and coordinate external engagements with elected officials, legislative staff and community stakeholders.
- Evaluate program and implementation issues, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
- Represent Covered California with credibility and professionalism in high‑visibility forums.
- Strong policy and legislative analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proven experience in government relations or public policy.
- Strategic thinker capable of turning complex information into compelling policy direction.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Minimum eligibility:
Classified as Analyst III.
- Position may be eligible for telework as permitted under Covered California’s telework policy.
- In‑person attendance may be required as operational needs dictate. Employees may be required to report to the worksite with minimal notice for urgent matters.
