Do you want to make a difference for children and families in California? Join the Office of Child Abuse Prevention as an Analyst II. You will be part of a dynamic team that manages grants and contracts to reduce child maltreatment through innovative prevention, intervention, and treatment programs. This position coordinates with public and private entities that provide services for children and families—including non‑profit organizations, county child welfare agencies, businesses, and other state and local agencies—to develop and implement a comprehensive statewide child maltreatment prevention approach.
Knowledge and/or experience in grant or contract management, procurement, performance measurement, policy and data analysis, public awareness/communications, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, and strong writing skills are highly desirable. Knowledge of child maltreatment prevention programs and experience in children and family services programs or community‑based organizations are strongly preferred. Occasional in‑state travel may be required.
- Analyst II – Salary: $6,031.00 – $7,547.00 per month.
- Analyst I – Salary ranges: $3,861.00 – $4,839.00; $4,181.00 – $5,233.00; $5,014.00 – $6,276.00.

- Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) – no more than two pages. You must answer the following questions:
- Why are you interested in becoming an analyst for the Office of Child Abuse Prevention?
- How would you be effective at developing public awareness materials and campaigns?
- Why would you be an effective grant and/or contract manager?
- Fingerprint clearance and all required documents as stated in the job announcement.
- Official or unofficial transcripts if education is a qualifying requirement.
- Experience administering and monitoring grant agreements, including application review, award management, compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Knowledge of state contracting processes, procurement requirements and contract management principles.
- Experience developing, implementing, or supporting public awareness, outreach, education or marketing campaigns.
- Ability to analyze complex program, fiscal and operational data and provide recommendations to management.
- Experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to grants and contracts.
