Under the authority of the municipal police chief and within the conditions determined by law, the municipal police officer will be responsible for executing administrative and judicial police missions within the Mayor's competence in matters of prevention and surveillance of public order, tranquility, security, and sanitation. They will also maintain a close relationship with the population.

Armament: category B (PSA 9mm Glock 17), B8 (GAIL superior to 100ml) and D (telescopic baton, tonfa and GAIL inferior to 100 ml)

Hours may vary during the municipal term (possible work in the evening, weekend, public holiday and night) from 16h to 02h (alternating weeks at 40 hours and 30 hours equivalent to a work cycle of 35 hours) for team B and from 08h30 to 12h and from 13h30 to 17h for team

Responsibilities include:

• Prevention, security, and public tranquility:
  
  - Ensure active presence on the ground (patrols, neighborhood surveillance)- Ensure public order, safety, and sanitation
  - Regulate traffic and ensure compliance with the road code
  - Intervene in public order disturbances and incivilities
  - Participate in the security of events and demonstrations
• Administrative and judicial police:
  
  - Enforce mayor's orders
  - Record infractions and draw up minutes
  - Write reports, police records, and minutes
  - Ensure follow-up of procedures and regulatory transmissions
• Relation with the population:
  
  - Welcome, inform, and direct citizens
  - Develop a close relationship with residents
  - Participate in prevention actions (schools, road safety…)
• Secure and monitor residents' homes during extended absences (tranquillity vacation operation)
• Fight against illegal dumping
• Manage dangerous, biting, or stray dogs (manage applications for dangerous dog ownership permits, manage dog bite files, write orders for stray dog placement at the pound)
• Manage vehicle impoundments

- Holder of the municipal police career
- Winner of the municipal police guardian competition
- Initial training of municipal police officers validated
- Desired prior training in armament
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience
- Respect for deontology, self-assertion, listening and dialogue skills, rigor, discretion, availability, human relations skills, good physical condition, taste for the field, team work
