• Making Accurate Judgments:

• Three years of experience in corrections or law enforcement; OR
• Three years of continuous active military duty; OR
• Six years of full‑time experience in any field; OR
• A bachelor's degree.

Experience substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full‑time work experience. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours, which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience.

• Cannot have a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony conviction, or be under indictment on a felony charge until relief is granted.
• Possession of a current Louisiana driver’s license.
• Must handle and carry firearms.
• Willingness and ability to obtain Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.

• Supervise felony and misdemeanor offenders through counseling, case management, and referrals to community resources that support rehabilitation and social adjustment.
• Enforce conditions of probation and parole by monitoring compliance, managing violations, and participating in all stages of the violation process.
• Conduct criminal justice investigations and prepare reports and recommendations for courts, parole and pardon boards, and other criminal justice decision makers.
• Conduct arrests, transport violators, and participate in probable cause, revocation, and disciplinary hearings.
• Investigate and manage restitution, supervision fees, fines, court costs, and other criminal justice‑related financial obligations.
